Ya except for the fact that its annoying when people spend all their time playing, and you know someone is addicted when they pay monthly to keep their forum servers up . its so annoying to me
ok well im obviously a girl and i like to shop, and play video games too but when you play obsessivly like most boys do it gets annoying…

Maybe the same reason people ask and answer questions on Yahoo. It’s addicting and it passes the time.
Ok your reasons are all correct but there is one thing you miss. Occasionally there competitions and tournaments on games like counterstrike with big prizes. Take Halo 2, I heard from a friend there is literally a tv game show all about Halo 2 competitions that if I remember correctly 1st prize team wins 50k cash and a 2nd prize team wins 30k.
I can’t answer for everyone, but I can shed some light as to why I play games like counter-strike.
I play for several reasons. Most of all because it is a lot of fun, it is a game after all. It is competitive and entertaining to play against people and try to get better.
It’s also incredibly convenient. If I want to get in to a game for 5 minutes I can, and I’ll still have fun doing it.
