How do I make my online video games ping better?

I play all the Call of Duty games and I have cable internet if any of that makes a difference.

First, make sure (I’m assuming your playing on a computer) that you’re running no other programs that use an internet connection in the background. (Downloads, iTunes, those “Weather” things that show the temperature and stuff, etc.) Also if you’re running Windows try running in selective startup mode, to do this go to Start>Run>Type in msconfig>click “Selective startup”>Restart your computer.

Make sure you have a good proccessor, video card, and Ram. The better video card will make gameplay smoother while the proccessor and Ram speed it up.More Ram less lag i recommend 750+ Ram and atleast a 6600 video card. And you need DSL or Cable

get a fiber connection so you will have download speeds of 100 megs a sec.
